Well, it is Fall, although it hasn't felt like it here in Florida with record highs for this time of year! We had a couple cooler days, but it didn't stay that way :o( Although, today I opened the windows and they are still open tonight. There is a nice cool breeze coming through.....is the cooler weather finally here to stay for the next few months? We are hoping so. Although, I'm sure once it does after a month or so of it most of us Floridians will be wishing it HOT again as we always do! hahaha Not that it really gets that cold.
The kids are amazing as always! Olivia is practicing walking everyday, but as soon as you let go of her hands....down on her booty shaker she goes :o) She doesn't stop moving though. She doesn't let not walking get in her way. All she wants to do is be right next to Nicholas and play. She chases him around the house unless he is pushing her around on her wheels! She is eating more of our table food than she has been. I'm also weening her off the paci. She gets it for naps and bedtime. She is cutting 2 more teeth. She has had her 2 bottom, her two top front ones popped through and now she is cutting each one on either side of the top ones! She has started signing daddy, standing up on her own and gives us hugs and kisses, including Nicholas. She will also go back and forth between Ray and I giving us kisses! She even makes the kissing sound as she's is giving you a kiss.....so sweet! Nicholas is talking so well right now and quite a lot :o) We have to choose our words wisely when he's around. Not that we really say the "bad" ones, but he is picking up on everything. We don't even watch our normal t.v. shows unless he's in bed. Too much violence, "bad"words, etc. for him to see and then repeat. Nicholas has been asking for us to change his bed to a big boy bed. He saw that we were lowering Olivia's matress(she was pulling up and we didn't want her to climb over) and has been asking since. We're still debating that....if we do we're going to put it inside his CARS tent with his new CARS sheets that he picked out months ago! He has been talking so good and learning to read. We do fun little computer games that teach him as well as read to him daily. He loves to read his books. He is such a little ham too :o) He's always being a funny guy, except when it comes to sharing with Olivia. That is something he's having a hard time doing. He's been asking a lot more to go to the potty and his diapers some days stay dry longer! On Halloween we all dressed up, Nicholas and Ray were train conductors and Olivia and I were fairies! We went down to Canal St and then to my oldest brothers neighborhood where he drove a trailer around with all the kids, myself, sister in law and a couple other adults to do some trick or treating. Nicholas had the hang of that before we left canal street. He only last 30 minutes on canal street. Once we were on the trailer he was enjoying himself and being with his cousins and the other kids. Olivia didn't last long, b/c it was past her bedtime. I called Ray to come down from the clubhouse and get her while I stayed and finished with Nicholas. He got tired soon after. We hit a couple more houses and then got in the van and all went home with a load of Candy. Olivia found out she likes chocolate! Nicholas keeps saying he wants a "chocolate cupcake candy". He's talking about a mini reeses cup. Of course, Ray and I don't let him have a lot each day. He gets a couple pieces a day. Once it's gone, it's gone. We don't really have candy in the house much. Ray and I got more than half of what he collected for ourselves, b/c it's stuff he still is too young for.
Now that Halloween is over we are planning for Thanksgiving! We are going to be driving up to Ohio to spend Thanksgiving with Rays family there. It will be our first road trip with the kids. Nicholas did great last time we went up on the plane. I'm hoping this trip goes just as well with the both of them. We got a DVD player so they could watch some movies in the van if they get too irritated about being couped up. We are hoping for snow so that they can play in it. Also hoping Olivia is walking by then so it will be more fun for her! :o) Most of all it's going to be nice to get away from our busy life here for a little while with the kids. To visit with family that we don't get to see much. Olivia will be meeting some of the family for the first time. I will miss being with my family for Thanksgiving, but Ray hasn't been with his whole family for a holiday for so many years. I'm also going to try and see my childhood BFF and her family while we are there(she lives in Cleveland). Just a couple more weeks!!
Ray and I are doing well. He's been super busy at work, going to the gym, helping me out with the kids when he's home on his days off. Household chores and projects keep us busy also. We work as a team though and get it done. Maybe not as fast as we like, but we will. We take pride in our home and our family and do what needs to be done and try to have as much fun with our family as possible! I'm enjoying my afternoons and evenings with the kids! It's rough some times, but so rewarding all the time! My days are spent trying to teach Nicholas manners and respect, trying to help Olivia learn to walk on her own, making things all better when they fall and hit their heads on the tile floor or when Nicholas scrapes his knees, trying to teach Nicholas to share with his little sister and to be nice to the animals and people, reading to them both and of course playing with them and somehow getting chores done, them fed, bathed and to bed at the end of the day....ALOT more work than the PT job I have, but this job called "motherhood" is by far the BEST and most rewarding job I will EVER have!
